METHOD OF DIAGNOSTICS OF OSTEOMYELITIS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B6/00 G01N33/50 G01N33/569

Abstract RU 2651091 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to pediatrics, and concerns the diagnosis of osteomyelitis in children. Method is based on the use of laboratory and radiation diagnostic criteria. If the result of bacteriological examination of the biopsy specimen from the bone lesion zone is negative or when any of the following three signs are combined: monosegmentary lesion of the spine, the number of bone lesions in the skeleton more than 1, absolute number of stab neutrophils of peripheral blood ≤ 120 in 1 mcl and the relative number of peripheral blood lymphocytes ≤ 52 %, diagnose non-bacterial osteomyelitis. With mono-focal lesion in combination with an absolute number of stab neutrophils of peripheral blood > 120 in 1 mcl and the relative number of peripheral blood lymphocytes > 52 % diagnose tuberculous osteomyelitis.

EFFECT: method provides differential diagnosis of non-bacterial and tuberculous osteomyelitis, thus minimizing the risk of complications and contributing to early adequate pathogenetic treatment when excluding unreasonable anti-tuberculosis therapy.
