FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics, and can be used for diagnosing osteomyelitis in children. Clinical, laboratory and radiation diagnostic criteria are used. In the presence of any two of five following features: 1) center of bone destruction, surrounded by an osteosclerosis zone, 2) number of foci more than one, 3) absence of fever, 4) CRP level ≤55.0 mg/l and 5) negative result of bacteriological culture from bone is diagnosed with non-bacterial osteomyelitis. If there are three or more signs: 1) monocular destructive lesion, 2) fever, 3) CRP level >55.0 mg/l and 4) positive result of bacteriological culture from bone is diagnosed acute hematogenous osteomyelitis.

EFFECT: method provides differential diagnosis of non-bacterial and acute haematogenous osteomyelitis by taking into account forms with monofocal injury at early stages of the disease and possibility of diagnosing hematogenic osteomyelitis in cases of negative results of bacterial inoculation from the lesion.
