SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to metallurgy and foundry production, in particular to bucket modification of cast irons, steels and non-ferrous metals. Modifier contains a multicomponent filler placed in a metal hermetically sealed shell in the form of a mixture brought to a homogeneous state, comprising at least two ultra- and / or fine-dispersed powders of metal up to 10 mcm in size, selected from the group including iron, nickel and aluminum, at least one refractory metal compound selected from carbides, borides, nitrides and silicides of 10 to 200 nm in size and at least one of fine powders selected from the group consisting of fullerene Cn, carbide clusters, silicon carbide, copper, calcium, barium and REM. Powders of carbides, borides, nitrides and silicides of refractory metals that form part of the filler are produced on a plasma-chemical unit for the synthesis of inorganic powders, then they are activated by mechanochemical treatment by mixing with the other components included in the modifier, in a liquid medium of a surfactant with the use of an ultrasonic disperser with the introduction of incorporation of refractory metals into metal powders with the formation of seed crystals, drying of the obtained suspension for removing moisture to get a homogeneous mixture with uniformly distributed in it compounds of refractory metals, after the obtained multicomponent mixture is packaged in a hermetically sealed metal shell and labeled.

EFFECT: inventions make it possible to improve the quality of the obtained products, to increase the specific surface of the modifier contact with the metal melt due to additional crystallization centers and ensure maximum mastering of the modifier in the melt.
