SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for increasing safety of using a laser ignition system. System and method of protective locking for laser ignition system is proposed. Laser device can be blocked when a signal is received that the laser device was removed from the cylinder. Conclusion that the device was removed can be based on the measured distance between the piston of the cylinder and the laser ignition device.

EFFECT: technical result is to ensure the safety of use when dismantling the laser ignition system.
