FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine control systems, in particular to identifying misfiring in order to identify combustion events occurring outside the main ignition point. Infrared sensor connected to a cylinder is proposed, which is used to read the temperature profile in the cylinder following the laser ignition event. Ignition misfire event is identified basing on a deviation of the read profile from the expected profile.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of misfiring identification accuracy.
