FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology and can be used to measure radial clearances and rotor speed in turbomachines. Essence of the invention lies in that the method of measuring radial clearances between the ends of the impeller blades during rotation thereof and the stator shell of a turbomachine further comprises the method steps, which provide controlled statistical processing of digital codes for calculating the values of extreme codes with a given accuracy. Method is based on probabilistic estimates of the distribution of discreteness random error obtained with respect to the continuous envelope of the eddy current sensor signal during the passage of the rotor blade. Resulting processing algorithm is reduced to averaging the random extreme codes of like blades for several full revolutions of the rotor.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring radial clearances.
