FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a refractory industry and is used as a component (molding block), which is in contact with molten glass when it is drawn from the melt as a sheet. Component contains a body containing zirconium (ZrSiO4) grains having an intergranular phase of free silicon dioxide between the zircon grains and substantially uniformly distributed in the body, and a sintering agent selected from the group consisting of Ta2O5, Nb2O5 and combination thereof. Said body has a free silicon dioxide content of not more than 2 % by weight of the total body weight. In another embodiment, the component comprises, as an additive, TiO2 in an amount of 0.2–1 % by weight of body weight.
EFFECT: elimination of bubbles formation in contact with molten glass.
