FIELD: chemistry; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of refractories and can be used in molds for the manufacture of glass substrates for liquid crystal displays. Refractory article includes a zirconic base which contains at least 1.5 and not more than 3.5 wt% Al2O3, at least 25 and not more than 35 wt% SiO2, at least 0.1 wt% Ta2O5 based on the total weight of the zirconia base, and the ratio of the amount of SiO2 to the amount of Al2O3 (wt%) is at least 10.
EFFECT: reduced high-temperature deformation of the molds and the reaction rate between the glass and the refractory material.
