FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of manufacturing a pelletized nuclear fuel from uranium dioxide for fuel elements of light water power nuclear reactors, as well as power reactors with gas cooling. Method for producing a pelletized nuclear fuel includes the formation of a charge consisting of dispersed uranium dioxide powder with doping additives of aluminum oxides and silicon in the form of nanoparticles and compression of the charge with pressure of up to 150 MPa between press punches being electrodes, which are under tension from a high-voltage power source, before the occurrence of a spark plasma between the charge particles, increase of electrical conductivity and charge loading temperature before the occurrence of uniform contact conductivity through intergranular contacts. In the charge combined pressing and sintering using a spark discharge plasma is carried out.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the time and effort required to produce pelletized nuclear fuel, to reduce the dependence of the properties of pelletized nuclear fuel on the physicochemical and technological properties of UO2 powder, to reduce the amount of waste.
