SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used to harden parts from heat-resistant alloys. Hardening of the parts is carried out by shot blasting with balls and microballs with hardness of HRC 60–64, at a pressure of 0.6 MPa. Treatment is carried out in several stages: in the first stage, the balls are treated with a diameter of 2–5 mm, in the second stage, balls with a diameter of 0.5 to 2 mm, the third is treated with a mixture of balls with a diameter of 0.5–1 mm and microspheres with a diameter of 0.05–0.10 mm, in the fourth stage, microspheres with a diameter of 0.02–0.10 mm are processed.

EFFECT: method provides a high quality of hardening of the workpiece surface and a smooth transition from hardening to an uneven surface.
