FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to techniques for strengthening parts of aircraft engines with the aid of shot peening. Method includes shot peening of the surface of a square-shaped check plate made of a workpiece material, measuring the boom bending of the deformed control plate. Maximum residual stresses in the surface layers of the control plate are determined by the formula: where ω0 – deflection arrow in the center of the control plate caused by residual stresses, mm; E – modulus of elasticity of the control plate material, N/m2; h – thickness of the control plate, mm; μ – Poisson's ratio of the material of the control plate; a – overall dimensions of the control plate of square shape, mm.
EFFECT: simplification of the method, reduction of the laboriousness of the distribution of residual stresses along the thickness of the control plate, increase of the accuracy of the control of residual stresses during shot peening.
