FIELD: drilling of soil or rock.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to monitoring the state of electric motors in downhole tools used for drilling, arranging, servicing and monitoring wells formed in the ground. Method includes providing a drilling direction control unit comprising a controllable bit shaft, the end of said bit shaft being configured to be controlled by an engine located within said drilling direction control unit, determining the torque characteristic as a function of the temperature of said engine in the operating temperature range in the initial state in the absence of loading, coupling the drill bit to said bit shaft, connection of said drilling direction control unit to the drill string, rotation of said drill string in a first direction to rotate the body of said drilling direction control portion and said drill bit to drill said wellbore to a first depth, wherein at least occasionally said motor is driven to control said bit end, determining a first torque value of said engine at said first depth in a no-load condition, determining a first temperature value of said engine at said first depth and comparing said first torque and temperature values with said torque characteristic as a function of temperature to determine a change in load to said engine.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of monitoring the engine temperature and, consequently, its performance.
