FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to abdominal surgery, and can be used in treatment of patients with mechanical jaundice of tumor origin. For this purpose, a self-expanding metal stent is installed. It is arranged so that its proximal end is 10–15 mm above the level of the tumor stricture, and the distal end of the stent projecting into the lumen of the duodenum is not less than 50–60 % of its total length.
EFFECT: method provides effective prevention of reflux during antegrade transpapillary stenting a common bile duct, which prevents developing reflux-cholangitis in the postoperative period due to optimal stent placement.
