FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to connect spot welding of rod, sheet blanks. Cavity of the cap electrode at its rear end is made conical. Holder is made in the form of a pipe with longitudinal and transverse windows for the refrigerant. Refrigerant tube is located with an annular gap in the cavity of the holder and is fixed in the rear part thereof. Cap electrode is provided with a lateral annular groove located at the bottom of its cavity. Front end of the tube is expanded to the minimum diameter of the conical cavity of the cap electrode and is located in the zone of the lateral annular groove. End surface of the enlarged end is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tube at an angle of 90°. Chamfer can be made on the front end of the holder.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the resistance of the electrode by improving its cooling.
