FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to contact spot welding and can be used, for example, in making bodies, doors of vehicles. Electrode-cap with conical and cylindrical cavities is arranged with conical cavity on front conic part of hollow holder. Coolant tube is installed with a lateral gap in the longitudinal cavity of the holder and is connected to the holder in its rear part made with openings for cooling agent. In the cylindrical cavity of the electrode there is a disk with a hollow shank, which is connected to the front part of the tube. Side surface of the disk is multifaceted, and on its front end there is an annular reduction with formation of a bottom and peripheral walls alternating with openings between them. Wall tops are installed in contact with lateral surface of cylindrical cavity of electrode, and their upper edges are made with chamfers and contact with bottom of this cavity. Front end of holder is separated by axial clearance from rear end of said disc, and disc stem is separated by side gaps from side surfaces of holder and electrode cavities.

EFFECT: device has high reliability and simple design.
