FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contact spot welding of rod, sheet blanks. Hollow holder is made with a conical surface in its front part. Cavity of the cap electrode has a conical and cylindrical surface. Refrigerant tube is installed with a side clearance in the cavity of the holder and is fixed in its rear part having a transverse window open in said side clearance. In the front part of the holder is installed a head having a shank with longitudinal grooves open at its end and separated by ribs whose apexes the head is based in the lateral clearance of the cavity of the holder. Head has a conical front end and a through longitudinal cavity, the diameter of which does not exceed the diameter of the tube opening, and is located in the cavity of the cap electrode with the formation of axial gaps relative to the front end of the holder and the conical bottom of the cavity of the cap electrode and the lateral clearance relative to its cylindrical surface.

EFFECT: device ensures the reliability and durability of the electrode due to the absence of a stagnant zone with the coolant at the apex of the conical bottom.
