SUBSTANCE: invention provides a deodorising method by contacting surface-reacted calcium carbonate with odorants, wherein the surface-reacted calcium carbonate is a reaction product of natural fine-particle or precipitated calcium carbonate with carbon dioxide and one or more acids, wherein carbon dioxide is formed at the site of use by means of acid treatment and/or comes from an external source.
EFFECT: use of surface-reacted calcium carbonate for deodorisation, as well as deodorising products containing surface-reacted calcium carbonate.
