FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to medicine, in particular to an abrasive cleaning composition comprising at least 6 wt. %, based on the total weight of the composition, of surface-modified calcium carbonate as an abrasive, wherein the surface modified calcium carbonate is a reaction product of natural or synthetic calcium carbonate with carbon dioxide and phosphoric acid. Invention also encompasses a method for cleaning a surface; use of surface-modified calcium carbonate as an abrasive material for cleaning the surface of a non-living object, as well as for cleaning teeth.
EFFECT: implementation of the invention makes it possible to create an abrasive material with mild and weak abrasive characteristics.
