FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used to obtain welded joints and to weld layers with particular properties. Welding is carried out using two consutrodes by arcs of direct and indirect action using DC power supply. Additionally, AC power source is used, one of the welding leads of which is connected to the product, and the second lead is connected to the electrodes through the electric valves. Alternate ignition between the electrodes and the product of the direct action arc of forward and reverse polarity provides alternate switching of the power source polarity during welding in accordance with the frequency of alternating current. By using alternating current in the arcs burning on the product, the concentration of the heat flux in the product and the melting capacity of the arc are changed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce the negative effects of magnetic arc blow when using the processing properties of both cathode and anode arc spots on the product.
