FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for welding parts made of steel or aluminum alloys in inert gases by a combination of free and compressed arcs. A compressed arc of direct action is obtained between the non-melting electrode of the plasma torch and the product from the first power source with multipolar current pulses. A free arc of indirect action is obtained from a second source with multipolar current pulses between a refractory insert fixed in the nozzle of the plasma torch and a melting electrode fed into the arc. The ratio of the average pulse current of direct polarity applied to the compressed arc during the welding period to the average pulse current during the welding period is selected in the range of 0.3-0.9. This ensures that the melting electrode is cleaned from the oxide film, which improves the quality of the weld.
EFFECT: arc supply circuit provides independent regulation of the ratio of the base and deposited metal in the weld and an increase in the melting rate of the electrode wire compared to single-arc welding with the supply of filler wire, which makes it possible to increase productivity when filling the cutting of welded parts and when welding corner seams.
