SUBSTANCE: method comprises reforming a flat web of packaging material into a cylindrical tube, feeding said tube in first direction, filling said tube with a liquid food product, transversally sealing said tube, at regular intervals, into separate package volumes. Longitudinal axes of every second transversal seal are parallel to each other, and longitudinal axes of each adjacent transversal seal are perpendicular to each other, wherein the longitudinal axis of each transversal seal is angled at an angle of 15-30° in relation to a plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube. Invention also relates to a packaging material for use in this method, package manufactured using said method, and to a filling machine for carrying out the method.
