FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to the designs of large unmanned aerial vehicles. Unmanned aerial vehicle (10) has drive (12) which comprises internal combustion engine (28), made in the form of a diesel engine and equipped with blowing device (30) for boosting the engine. Device contains several series-connected turbines operating on the exhaust gas, and mechanical supercharger (76). Aircraft (10) has control system (50), enabling the engine to be pressurized with and without energy from the exhaust gases and using mechanical energy, obtained from an internal combustion engine or from an electric drive. Method of operating aircraft (10) is characterized by the fact, that supercharged engine (28) of internal combustion drive (12) and/or the interaction of internal combustion engine (28) and electric motor (36, M) of hybrid drive (32) are controlled depending on the height, angle to vertical take-off or approach, required speed, allowable heat generation, noise level and/or temperature.
EFFECT: it is possible to use the aircraft at altitudes of more than 4000 m.
