SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the rolling of thick steel sheets. Method includes feeding, with acceleration, first plate (21) along rollers (9, 13) in feeding direction (T) with cooling on cooling section (10) of roller (9), storing first plate (21) on roller (13), feeding, with acceleration, second plate (22) along rollers (9, 13) in feed direction (T) with cooling on cooling section (10) of roller (9), storing second plate (22) in the feeding direction before first plate (21) on roller (13) and simultaneous unloading of first and second plates (21, 22) from roller (13) across direction (T) of supply to storage section (24). Device comprises rollers (9, 13) for feeding plates (21, 22) in feeding direction (T) having drive rollers (9a) for accelerating plates (21, 22) in feeding direction (T), at least one means for storing plates (21) on roller (13) in a certain position and cross conveyor (15) for simultaneously discharging several plates (21, 22) across feeding direction (T) from roller (13) to storage section (24) or several cross conveyors (15, 15`) for synchronously unloading, in each case, plates (21, 22) across feeding direction (T) from roller (9, 13) to storage section (24).
EFFECT: increasing the speed and stability of the unloading process and reducing the unloading cycle.
