SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. Device for formation of high-power short pulses CO2 with a laser consists of a sequentially located main oscillator on the P (20) line of a 10-mcm band, three-section resonant-absorbing cell with a mixture of SF6 and N2, optical scheme for geometric transformation of a beam of the main oscillator and three-pass amplifier formed by the active medium CO2 laser, which is located inside and on the axis of the confocal telescope with an external focus. Absorbing cell is made up of three equal sections filled with SF6 and N2 gases independently. First section contains a mixture of high pressure, and in subsequent sections it decreases according to a certain law, while the partial pressure of the absorbing component increases.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing the possibility of generating short pulses of high intensity.
