FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the monitoring of the rate of corrosion process in gas, oil and heat supply systems. Method for monitoring corrosion of a pipeline is proposed, consisting of performing control cuts, separating control cuts into samples, identifying phases of corrosion products, determining the number of phases of corrosion products, calculating the proportion of the free surface, determining the active component of the impedance in the alkaline electrolyte and mercury. Then, based on the obtained data on phase composition of corrosion products and their quantity, the value of the free surface fraction, the active component of the impedance, the corrosion index is calculated on the set of linear regression equations constructed from training batches of reference samples obtained for certain parameters of the corrosive medium. Type of corrosion damage is determined from the distribution of the values of the active component of the impedance over the area of the analyzed sample and the phase composition of the corrosion products.
EFFECT: accuracy, reliability and increase in the time interval for predicting corrosion, as well as providing information on the causes of corrosion damage.
