FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to head (1) for laser cutting sheet material for a metal cutting machine. Head (1) comprises collimation means (2) to collimate a laser beam coming from the laser emission apparatus, focusing means for focusing a collimated laser beam, casing (4) for receiving and containing the focusing means and supporting means arranged for receiving and holding the focusing means within a cavity of casing (4) and movable along adjustment direction (X) so as to change a focal point of the laser beam coming out from the focusing means. Cooling unit (10) comprises at least one Peltier cell and a heat dissipation element. Supporting means are rigidly connected to cooling unit (10) by means of thermally conductive connecting means designed to be led away by thermal conductivity from the supporting means and focusing means of heat generated by the laser beam as it passes through the focusing means. Thermally conductive connecting means and / or the cooling unit (10) are supported by movable member (37) movably connected to outer wall (4a) of housing (4), and is movable along the adjustment direction (X) to allow movement of the supporting means and focusing means.
EFFECT: head for laser cutting of sheet material for a metal cutting machine.
