FIELD: laser cutting.
SUBSTANCE: laser cutting head (1) connected to a machine (options) and a method for controlling laser cutting of a workpiece (100). The laser cutting head contains a collimating group (2) for collimating the laser beam (L) coming from the laser emitting device, a focusing group (5) for focusing the collimated laser beam (L) at the focal point (F), an optical element (8, 38) for receiving said focused laser beam (L) and reflecting its focused first part (L1), and a wave front sensor (9) for receiving said focused first part (L1) of laser beam (L), phase measurement of the wave front of said focused first part ( L1), obtaining the reconstructed wave front based on the phase measurement and sending the reconstructed wave front to the electronic processor (12). The electronic processor is configured to compare the reconstructed wave front and the control wave front, determine at least one optical aberration to which the laser beam (L) is subjected, reduce optical aberrations, and change the specified focal point (F).
EFFECT: accuracy and repeatability of cutting is ensured in the case of intensive and long-term use of the machine on which the laser cutting head is installed, by making it possible to measure and reduce many optical aberrations that affect the wave front of the laser beam exiting the cutting head.
