SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sleep support system in an upright position with support configured to be carried in a backpack system and resting on a vehicle seat, and is aimed at increasing the comfort of the user during sleep in an upright position. Sleep support system comprises a head cushion, a chest cushion, a hinged support structure and straps. Head cushion is designed to be deployed from a knapsack system and has a face relief aperture to receive a passenger's face leaving the eyes, nose mount and chin unrestricted when the face is supported by the head cushion. Chest cushion is attached to the knapsack system. Hinged support structure is adapted to adjust the angle between said head cushion and said chest cushion when the passenger's chest is positioned in said chest cushion in a tilted forward position.

EFFECT: straps are attached to the knapsack system and are configured to pass over the passenger's arms for attachment to the vehicle seat.
