FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method consists in the interaction of palmitic acid with dimethyl carbonate under the action of 5-10 wt % of NaY-MMM zeolite catalyst activated with triethylamine (TEA) (NaY-MMM:TEA=50:1) at 150°C for 3-5 hours at a molar ratio of [palmitic acid] : [dimethyl carbonate] = 100:300÷500 without using a solvent.
EFFECT: high output.
