SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for increasing the strength of welded seams of heat exchange equipment, and more particularly to a method for executing an unloading groove in the loaded welded joint of a pipe with the tube plate of a heat exchange apparatus with a liquid metal coolant. According to the method, the unloading groove is cut around the hole in the tube plate. Wherein the ratio of the depth of the unloading groove to the internal diameter of the hole in the tube plate is in the range from at least 0.5 to no more than 2.5.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the operational reliability of the heat exchange apparatus with a liquid metal coolant by increasing the strength of welded seams of heat exchange tubes with a tube plate.
