SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of liquid crystal displays. Method of controlling the liquid crystal panel includes providing a liquid crystal panel comprising a plurality of pixel blocks, where each pixel block contains a green subpixel and a blue subpixel; the division of the liquid crystal panel into several display units, where each display unit comprises an adjacent first pixel block and a second pixel block; and for the grayscale values B and G of the blue subpixel and the green subpixel required by the display unit, separating the values of the shades of gray B and G, respectively, into a combination of grayscale values BH, BL and a combination of grayscale GH, GL for the first and second pixel blocks, so that the brightness of the blue subpixels and green subpixels of the display unit at an angle of the oblique view approximates a predetermined gamma distribution curve (γ), where γ=1.8~2.4.
EFFECT: invention provides improved image quality.
