In an image display method, a liquid crystal panel including a plurality of pixel units is divided into a plurality of display units including a first display area including a pixel unit, the number of which is equal to a, and a second display area including a pixel unit the number of which is equal to b, where a and b are positive integers. Data signal of an image is provided and greyscale (G) of the data signal of the image corresponding to the pixel unit is divided into a combination of first greyscale (Gm) and second greyscale (G). First greyscale (Gm) is input into the pixel unit of the first display area, second greyscale (Gs) is input into the pixel unit of the second display area, and the image is displayed.

EFFECT: technical result is a reduction in the colour shift by simulating a 2D1G panel display on a conventional RGB liquid crystal panel with three types of pixels.
