FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermometry and can be used in downhole measurements. Methods and apparatus for distributing temperature sensing along an optical waveguide placed in an axial direction with respect to a conduit are proposed, using a distributed temperature sensor and a set of temperature sensors. Exemplary method includes performing a distributed temperature sensing (DTS) using two ends of a first optical fiber disposed within a conduit and having a return channel connecting the two ends, performing a discrete temperature sensing based on measured light reflections from reflective elements having characteristic wavelengths located at discrete locations, and temperature determination in a variety of locations based on DTS and a discrete temperature sensing.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of obtained data is provided.
