FIELD: cutting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an appliance for cutting food, which includes frame (1), chute (5) for feeding in food, and cutting tool (10) that is mobile in an alternating movement. According to the invention, the appliance includes stationary complementary cutting tool (11) which faces chute (5); mobile cutting tool (10) is arranged between chute (5) and stationary complementary cutting tool (11) and includes at least: main cutting edge (28) moving alternately in working direction (F1) and in return direction (F2), and a pressing shoe that extends from main cutting edge (28) is located on the side of complementary cutting tool (11) and has a bevel inclined from main cutting edge (28) in the direction opposite to working direction (F1).
EFFECT: improved convenience, ease and safety of using the device.
