SUBSTANCE: surgical system contains: a pressurized irrigation fluid source; irrigation line fluidly coupled to the pressurized irrigation fluid source; handle fluidly coupled to the irrigation line, wherein the handle has an irrigation sleeve; irrigation pressure sensor located inside or along the pressurized irrigation fluid source, either inside or along the irrigation line; and a controller for controlling the pressurized irrigation fluid source. Wherein the controller is configured to control the pressurized irrigation fluid source based on the readings of the irrigation pressure sensor and the calculated flow value with correction due to the correction factor. Moreover, the correction factor is based on the degree of compression of the irrigation sleeve, which limits the amount of flowing irrigation fluid. Another variant of the surgical system comprises: a pressurized irrigation fluid source, wherein the pressurized irrigation fluid source comprises an elastic bag arranged between two opposing plates, wherein the elastic bag contains a fluid; position sensor arranged in or on one of the two opposing plates, wherein the position sensor is intended for determine the distance between two opposing plates; drive for displacing at least one of the two opposing plates, with the possibility of squeezing the elastic bag; and the controller for controlling the relative displacement of the opposing plates. In this case, the controller takes the position sensor readings, determines the distance between the plates and provides an assessment of the fluid amount in the elastic bag.
EFFECT: application of this group of inventions will allow to maintain a stable intraocular pressure at various fluid flow parameters.
