FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Device for insertion into the patient's eyeball for aspiration of the material from the eyeball in the treatment of ophthalmic disease comprises: needle, located at the distal end of the device, wherein needle comprises distal opening; aspiration duct extending from distal needle opening to proximal end of the device, wherein aspiration channel comprises proximal portion with first diameter, bypass portion with second diameter and distal portion with third diameter, wherein second diameter is larger than third diameter; irrigation channel coaxially located around at least a portion of the bypass portion and a distal portion of the suction channel; and bypass channel formed in wall between the bypass portion of the aspiration channel and the irrigation channel, to provide a direct communication with the possibility of transferring fluid between the irrigation channel and the aspiration channel. Method of controlling the vacuum within the suction handle for insertion into the patient's eyeball includes: placement of the distal tip of the aspiration handle inside the eyeball; supply irrigation liquid to the eyeball through irrigation pipe coaxially located around the aspiration channel, irrigation branch pipe and the needle form annular irrigation channel between them; enabling irrigation liquid to pass from the irrigation channel to the aspiration channel through at least one bypass duct; and providing a vacuum inside the aspiration channel for aspiration of fluid and tissue from the eyeball into the aspiration channel through the distal tip; increasing vacuum within the suction port by selectively blocking the flow through at least one bypass duct.
EFFECT: application of this group of inventions will prevent and minimize occlusion of the aspiration lumen during phacoemulsification operation.
