FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for cutting crabs by means of time-coordinated tools depending on the dimensions of the shell. Measuring device determines the location of the front and the back parts of the shell with respect to the saddle, securing and propelling the crab through the machine. Positions of the ends of the tools, used to process the crab, are known. After the measurement, the crab is advanced to the calculated position relative to the first tool with the upward movement of the lever separating the shell from the crab. Then the crab is moved past the second tool, which lifts the shell away from the carcass of the crab, providing the possibility of moving the third tool upward with the separation of shell and tail from the carcass of the crab, when the saddle is in the second calculated position. Remaining groups of legs are cut and released from the saddle for further processing.
EFFECT: invention provides removal the shell from the crab, as well as its oral appendages and tail.
