PESSARY FOR REDUCING PROLAPSE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F6/08 A61F6/12

Abstract RU 2673381 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to devices for treating pelvic prolapse (PP), and more particularly to vaginal support devices. Vaginal pessary having a size and shape for reducing pelvic prolapse includes a body filling a space that expands in at least two orthogonal directions relative to the axis of the vagina, including at least two finned sections, adapted to apply force to the vaginal walls facing them, along their axial length. Body is adapted for at least two states: a compressed state in which said body has a size for insertion into the vagina; and extended state, in which said body has a size and sufficient stiffness to ensure a reduction in pelvic prolapse, and in which the ribs extend along the axis of the vagina and exert force against the vaginal walls facing them. In addition, the pessary comprises a stepping change mechanism of the fixation state combined with said pessary and intended to change the shape of said body from one state to another, the mechanism does not use a fluid flow to change the state. Pessary has stable shape and size in both states. Pessary system includes the aforementioned pessary of variable shape, adapted to reduce prolapse of the organ when it is inserted into the vagina; and an applicator adapted to retain said pessary when it has a shape suitable for insertion into the vagina.

EFFECT: apparatus for treating pelvic prolapse is proposed.
