Method for determining the hardness of natural waters includes the steps of determining the concentration of mg⋅eq/l of ions Ca2+, Mg2+, while the process of determining the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions provides for the measurement of the electrical conductivity from 3 to 20 mcA/cm3 highly diluted natural waters with a content of calcium and magnesium ions is less than 0.3 mg⋅eq/l using a calibration graph, from which the concentration of calcium and magnesium ions is read by the numerical value of the electrical conductivity of natural waters.

EFFECT: increased accuracy, elimination of the use of chemical reagents, significant acceleration and simplification of the determination of the concentration of Ca2+, Mg2+ ions in natural waters.
