FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of isoprene by the two-step dehydrogenation of isopentane in the presence of an aluminum chromium catalyst in the first stage of dehydrogenation. Process is characterized that a mixture of isopentane and a side furan-containing amylene fraction is formed in the first dehydrogenation step, resulting from the separation of isoprene from fraction C5 pyrolysis, in a weight ratio of 30–80:1, when the content of furan in the mixture is not more than 0.005 % by weight.
EFFECT: use of the present invention makes it possible to expand the feedstock for obtaining isoprene by a two-stage dehydrogenation using as feed a mixture of isopentane obtained by any of the known methods, and the secondary furan-containing amylenic fraction resulting from the isolation of isoprene from fraction C5 pyrolysis.
