FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for purifying paraffin hydrocarbons C5 from sulfur compounds and moisture azeotropic rectification. Process is characterized in that the paraffinic hydrocarbons C5 is mixed with the butane fraction in an amount necessary to prepare a mixture containing 5–14 mass% of n-butane, and the resultant mixture is subjected to a single-stage azeotropic rectification in a column with not less than 40 theoretical trays at an overpressure of 0.2–0.8 MPa, with separation from the top of the column as an azeotrope of n-butane with sulfur compounds and moisture, and from the cube of the column of the purified fraction of paraffinic hydrocarbons C5 with a sulfur content of not more than 0.0001 % by weight and lack of moisture.
EFFECT: invention solves the technical problem of developing a process for purifying paraffinic hydrocarbons C5 (both in an individual form and as a mixture of pentane and isopentane) from sulfur compounds and moisture azeotropic rectification.
