FIELD: aircraft.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aircraft (AC) navigation using the location elevations maps radar measurements for determining of the deviations and correction of the inertial navigation system (INS) data on the AC location. Method of the AC navigation on the location elevations maps accuracy increasing includes obtaining of the AC a priori coordinates from the on-board navigation facilities, obtaining of the correction area reference digital elevation map, location elevations radar measurement, then compiling a measured location elevations map and converting the measured location elevations components coordinates into the normal system (NCS) taking into account of the current AC a priori coordinates. At that, the roll measurement error estimation is found iteratively by obtaining a sequence of radar images (RIS) of location elevations in the associated coordinates system.
EFFECT: technical result of the claimed invention is increase in the AC operational altitudes range, on which the navigation system by the location elevations map provides the required accuracy.
