FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument engineering, in particular to a technique to measure the flow rate of liquid metals using an electromagnetic method, i.e. a method based on the interaction of a flowing fluid with a magnetic field. Electromagnetic method for measuring the flow rate of liquid metals in a pipe is to create a low-frequency impulse bipolar magnetic field in the pipe channel; in the transformation by flowing fluid flow based on the Faraday law of this magnetic field into an electrical signal between two electrodes welded to an outer surface of the tube and calculating the flow amount, while on the tube there are two counter-connected inductive coils that perceive the deformation of the magnetic field pattern caused by the MHD effect characterized by the magnetic Reynolds number, measurement of the deformation of the magnetic field and the introduction of an correction eliminating the influence of the deformation of the magnetic field on the result of measuring the flow rate of liquid metal.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring the flow rate of liquid metals.
