FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to flow meters designed to measure the flow of liquid metals. Liquid metal electromagnetic flowmeter contains a primary transducer and a measuring device, the primary transducer has a pipe, an inductor that creates a magnetic field in the pipe channel, and electrodes welded to the outer surface of the pipe, located diametrically opposite along a line perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field, and connected to the inlet measuring device. A distinctive feature of the flow meter is that the primary converter has two pairs of electrodes located symmetrically, at an equal distance from the line of symmetry of the inductor, perpendicular to the channel axis and the direction of the magnetic field, and the sum of the potential differences of each pair of electrodes, measured by the measuring device, serves as a measure of the flow of liquid metal.
EFFECT: increase of the accuracy of measuring the flow of liquid metal within small changes in the magnetic Reynolds number.
