SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection and can be used for the purification of lead contaminated soils of industrial enterprises, as well as to enhance the environmental sustainability of soil-soil structures in the urban environment and garden and garden partnerships of urban agglomerations. Method of immobilization of lead in contaminated soils includes the introduction of sorbent on the basis of natural materials into the soil. Sorbent is prepared by mixing dry lime and sapropel in a ratio of 5:1 and evenly applied to the soil surface in the spring period of time (March – April) at doses of 0.5–1.5 tons/ha.

EFFECT: use of this invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of lead immobilization in the humus-accumulation horizon of soils using inexpensive natural sorbents.
