FIELD: milling.
SUBSTANCE: segment (100) can be detachably mounted in pocket (154) of cutting tool (150), formed on peripheral surface of its body (152). Each segment (100) has longitudinal segment axis (A) extending in rearward to forward direction (DF, DR) and upper and lower ends (102, 104), located on opposite sides of axis (A). Lower end (104) has two spaced apart lower abutment surfaces (108, 110). Insert retention portion (112) is formed in the upper end (102), at forward end (114). Resilient retention arm (116) is formed in upper end (102), rearwardly spaced apart from insert retention portion (112). Retention arm (116) has upper abutment surface (118). In a side view of segment (100), upper and lower abutment surfaces (118, 108, 110) are linear. Cutting tool (150) comprising at least one cutting tool segment (100) detachably mounted in a segment pocket (154).
EFFECT: higher reliability of fastening the segment regardless of the attachment of the cutting insert.
