SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, namely to rescue and search facilities for those in distress on the water, and can be used to rescue people on water. Rescue device comprises a body which consists of two shells connected by a hinge, and a propulsion system. Shells are volumetric, have positive buoyancy and consist of horizontal and vertical sections. Hinge connects the free ends of the vertical sections.

EFFECT: it is ensured that the rescue device can move in an autonomous mode to the rescued object (person) in a folded form.
