SUBSTANCE: field of application: electrical engineering. According to the method, a warning about lightning is provided by a plurality of wind power plants, in particular a part of a wind park. Wind power plants are located at a certain location, and each of the plurality of wind turbines has a sensor assembly for recording an environmental parameter comprising at least an anemometer, temperature sensor, and/or a moisture sensor, wherein the sensor assembly has a further sensor, in particular an electric field meter for sensing electric fields. Method involves the following steps: registration of at least one value for the environmental parameter, at least comprising an electric field, by using the sensors of the sensor assembly by means of the plurality of wind turbines; and evaluating the at least one value for the environmental parameter in order to predict the lightning warning for the locations of the plurality of the wind turbines.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy and reliability of the lightning warning method.
