SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology, and is intended for carrying out bacteriological examination of intraocular contents. To carry out bacteriological research in the surgical treatment of postoperative endophthalmitis, taking into account the etiology of the disease, an early vitrectomy with intraocular contents is performed. Immediately after the removal of the intraocular material, sowing of its part in the ophthalmological clinic for meat-peptone agar and thioglycolic medium is carried out. Culture is carried out in a thermostat for 22–24 hours until the primary culture is grown, followed by transporting the medium in a thermos bottle to the bacteriological laboratory, where bacteriological analysis is carried out in an automatic analyzer for the identification of microorganisms and the determination of sensitivity to antibiotics with the subsequent additional introduction of intravitrealally etiologically based antibacterial drugs as soon as possible.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to reduce the time of establishment of the etiologic cause of the disease to 30–32 hours with the subsequent introduction into the vitreal cavity, containing PFOC, an etiologically sound antibacterial preparation.
