FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: phacoemulsification of cataracts, subtotal three-port vitrectomy, tamponade of the vitreal cavity with perfluorodecalin for 5–14 days and intravitreal administration of 1 mg of vancomycin and 2.25 mg of ceftazidime are performed. Phacoemulsification of cataracts is performed with lighting at a power of 90–100% with a chandelier-illuminator built into the irrigation flow. Vitrectomy is performed using the main light at a power of 40–50% in combination with a chandelier-illuminator at a power of 70–80%, built into the irrigation flow with a set pressure of 35–40 mm Hg.
EFFECT: method allows to restore the transparency of the optical media, stop inflammatory reactions in the anterior and posterior segments of the eye, and preserve visual functions.
